Blocking Calls

Protect your privacy with ACS Blocking Features. You can choose whether you want your calls identified and whether certain callers can call you!

Telemarketing Block

(This feature is available in Flom, Gary, Ogema, Tulaby Lake, Twin Valley, Ulen, Waubun, and White Earth.)

This feature blocks telemarketing calls by:

  • intercepting calls

  • announcing that you do not accept telemarketing calls

  • requesting that your name be added to their "Do Not Call" list

  • advising other callers to dial '1' or stay on the line to be connected

Per Call Blocking

This feature, which is already provided on your telephone line, prevents your telephone number from being displayed to Caller ID customers on a per call basis.

  • Simply press *67 before placing your call.

Line Blocking

Line Blocking prevents your number from being displayed to Caller ID customers on all calls made from your telephone. Line Blocking is available upon request at no charge to residential customers.

Per Call Unblocking

This feature allows you to unblock your Line Blocked telephone line on a per-call basis so your number will be displayed to Caller ID customers. This is available to all customers who have Line Blocking.

  • To activate this feature, press *82 before placing your call. After the call, Line Blocking will again be in effect.

Anonymous Call Rejection

Anonymous Call Rejection prevents intentionally blocked calls from reaching you. Callers who have blocked their call with Per Call Blocking or Line Blocking, will hear a message stating this number is not accepting calls from blocked lines.

  • Start code is *77

  • Stop code is *87

Selective Toll Restriction and Unblocking

This feature allows you to control access to direct-dialed long distance calling from your telephone. 2. When asked, enter the feature access code, *68, followed by #.

  3. Then enter the current (old) four digit PIN followed by #, then your new four digit PIN followed by #. (You will be asked to enter the new four digit PIN again for verification).

To Activate Selective Toll Restriction
  1. Lift the handset and press *68.

  2. Enter your four digit PIN followed by #.
