Protect Your InBox
The ACS e-mail server is an extremely busy place. On a typical day, between three and four million e-mail messages are received. To protect the server and your computer, ACS utilizes an e-mail filter to sort through those messages and classify them in one of four groups. If you have your mail is filtered according to these categories:
- Blocked: Mail coming from known spam sources or addresses is stopped immediately.
- Rejected: Mail scanned and determined to be blatant spam is stopped and not quarantined.
- Quarantined: Mail scanned and suspected to be spam is stored in the quarantine area for you to review and determine if you want to release it to your mailbox.
- Delivered: Mail scanned and delivered to your mailbox.
Only 7% of the three to four million incoming e-mail messages are legitimate. For every e-mail you receive, approximately fourteen are blocked, rejected or quarantined!
